Welcome to the 'Leslies Removals
& Storage' website |

Whilst
in full time employment, working nights on the assembly line at
International Harvesters in Idle Bradford, Leslie purchased a
small van and began delivering odd items of furniture during the
daytime for people in the local area. |
|
|
Within
6 months Leslie found he had sufficient work to allow him to
give up his job at International Harvesters and concentrate
full time on building up the business.

Leslie's
wife, Betty, undertook the administrative side of the business
dealing with telephone enquiries and bookings. In 1964 Leslie
applied to the licensing authority for an Operators Licence to
enable him to undertake household removals within a 50 mile radius
of Bradford. Later that year the licence was extended to enable
him to cover all parts of the UK. |

|
|
The
business expanded further and in 1965 Leslie purchased 2 large
removal vans which allowed him to carry out large household removals,
office removals, shop deliveries and storage of furniture. Over
the next few years Leslie was able to increase the number of vehicles
to 6. |

In
1977, Robert, the youngest son of Leslie and Betty entered
the family business working alongside his Father and other
employees within the business. Robert gained experience in
the handling of furniture and customer liaison.

In
January 1988 Robert became a partner in the business and in 1995
he took over as sole proprietor. Since then Robert has introduced
new containerised vehicles and more recently, in 2004, has moved
into a new purpose built warehouse with capacity for 120 to 150
containers. |
